What we do
Where care and caring come together
Our philosophy is to provide high-quality person-centred care, ensuring that everyone we look after is treated as an individual and cared for with dignity, respect and empathy. We place great emphasis on developing an individual’s skills and what they can do, rather than focusing on their diagnosis.
Who we support
Pennine Lodge provides high-quality care for older and working-aged adults living with dementia, mental health issues, challenging behaviours and physical/sensory disabilities.
These needs may be caused by a number of conditions, including:
- Dementia, with associated health and personal care needs
- Mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia
- Neurodegenerative conditions, such as Korsakoff’s Syndrome, Lewy-body, developmental disabilities or brain injury
- Psychological conditions such as anxiety, depression, confusion, memory loss and hallucinations that may cause difficult behaviours
Bespoke care plans
Pennine Lodge is part of the Towerview Care Group of high-quality care homes, with a collective mission to provide person-centred care plans which maintain the dignity and respect of residents.
Our home offers a welcoming, relaxed and happy environment, where each day is shaped around the needs of the people we support.
When someone new joins our Pennine Lodge family, we care for them as we would wish to be cared for ourselves. We get to know each person well, learning their likes, dislikes, hobbies, achievements, family history and connections. This enables us to care for them with the same knowledge and care as their own family would.
We design person-centred care plans which cover not only physical needs like exercise, special menus and medication – but also social and spiritual needs, interests and preferences.
Life stories are an essential resource to help us deliver person-centred care, especially for those living with dementia. We take time to learn about the personal background of each individual we look after: their background, past, achievements and notable events in their life.
Our team love to hear stories, memories and anecdotes, and these help them to develop a stronger bond and rapport with those they care for. It also provides an opportunity to understand the root of certain behaviours.
Our psychologist works closely with our ladies and gentlemen, their families and other professionals to explore ways of sustaining relationships and communication when faced with challenging or aggressive behaviour. Knowing an individual’s life story can be a conversation starter and spark memories – helping them to feel included and settled at Pennine Lodge. This can improve self-esteem and, in some cases, restore identity.
Feedback taken seriously
We have a policy of openness and respect at Pennine Lodge. We welcome all comments and use them to monitor and improve our standards. We ask and encourage everyone we care for, friends and family members, to provide suggestions, compliments, concerns or complaints at any time.

Quality – Our Registered Manager and Deputy Manager ensure we deliver consistent and excellent care, and this is supported by our thorough recruitment and training process. We listen to and act upon feedback so we can continuously improve and develop best practices in care.
Dignity – We maintain the dignity of our ladies and gentlemen throughout all stages of their care, by creating detailed, personalised care plans. This ensures we deliver quality end-of-life care, involving the individual and their loved ones every step of the way.
